On Memorial Day, the Manchester Veterans Council dedicated a new memorial in Veterans Park to honor the brave men and women who served during the Gulf Wars and the Global War on Terror. The Gulf Wars/Global War on Terror Memorial was a project spearheaded by the Manchester Veterans Council and sponsored by multiple local businesses, including Socha Companies. Funding the memorial was a nearly year-long endeavor. The Manchester Veterans Council began reaching out to local businesses for sponsorships starting in September 2025. Socha Companies is always proud to support our Manchester community, and so we are thrilled to be able to honor our veterans by contributing to this memorial.
The Manchester Veterans Council is a volunteer organization of local veterans. They organize city-wide military tributes, advocate for veteran benefits, and build memorial monuments, like this new monument in Veterans Park. The Council broke ground for the memorial on April 1, 2026. Local businesses and private donors contributed paving stones and bronze plaques with the names of veterans and messages in support and remembrance of those who bravely gave their lives in the Gulf Wars and the Global War on Terror.
Multiple service members from New Hampshire gave the ultimate sacrifice in the Gulf Wars and the Global War on Terror. This monument will serve not only as a place of remembrance but also as an educational resource for future generations.
